Welcome to this site! It is about,of course, RZ's .I've had RD's and RZ's since I was a kid and always throroughy enjoyed them. My first bike was a Yamaha DT100 which was short lived because it got riped off. Then a buddy of mine had a RD 350 just sitting in his garage collecting dust. So I offered him 500.00 cash for it and he took it. Now I had a bike to work on. So I took it home started pulling it apart and cleaning it up. It's amazing what a little soap, steelwool, and a little elbow grease will do. I rebuilt the top end and cleaned the jets and away to the road we went. Then after my first experience with the RD, I aquired a few more bikes such as a RD 250 ,350 & 400 Daytona. Then in 1983 I found out they were coming out with a new version of the RD called the RZ. So I got on a waiting list at the Yamaha dealer and waited 6 months. Then the wait was over. I had finally gotten the bike of my dreams, a black and yellow Kenny Roberts specal edition known as the POCKET-ROCKET. This little wheelie machine was a blast. It was watercooled and looked very clean with it's upper and lower fairings,and the racing graphics. |
